AB1141,1,2 An Act to create 20.395 (5) (db) of the statutes; relating to: funding the Drug Evaluation and Classification Program and making an appropriation.

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau

This bill appropriates $125,000 in fiscal year 2023-24 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2024-25 for the Department of Transportation's Drug Evaluation and Classification Program. The program provides training for law enforcement officers and others in the recognition of drug influence and impairment.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB1141,2 Section 2 . 20.395 (5) (db) of the statutes is created to read:

AB1141,2,4 20.395 (5) (db) Drug evaluation and classification program. From the general fund, the amounts in the schedule for the drug evaluation and classification program.

AB1141,3 Section 3. Effective date.

AB1141,2,7 (1) This act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after publication of the 2023-25 biennial budget act, whichever is later.
