AJR24,1,42 Whereas, the crises of our time require our resolve to uphold every person's
3right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and, as such, demand for the
4establishment of an Economic Justice Bill of Rights in Wisconsin; and
AJR24,1,65 Whereas, grassroots, community activists across the state mobilized voters in
6an extraordinary fashion; and
AJR24,1,87 Whereas, this legislative body is the most diverse legislative body in Wisconsin
8history, with unprecedented representation; and
AJR24,1,129 Whereas, with broad support for bold and progressive policy relating to our
10current public health and economic crises, the establishment of an Economic Justice
11Bill of Rights is essential to ensure a commitment to meeting the needs of all peoples
12of Wisconsin; and
AJR24,1,1413 Whereas, the people of Wisconsin regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation,
14and ability status are entitled to economic liberties expressed in a Bill of Rights; and

1Whereas, every child is entitled to equitable opportunities and to have their
2humanity cherished; and
AJR24,2,43 Whereas, these economic liberties will set the foundation for the posterity of
4Wisconsin, starting with uplifting and supporting the youth of today; and
AJR24,2,55 Whereas, we declare that Bill of Rights includes the following:

AJR24,2,77 2. A union, public or private, and collective bargaining;
AJR24,2,88 3. Affordable and accessible high-quality healthcare;
AJR24,2,99 4. Equitable and accessible public education and child care;
AJR24,2,1010 5. Pollution-free water and a healthy planet;
AJR24,2,1111 6. High-quality, safe housing;
AJR24,2,1212 7. Reliable, climate-friendly transportation;
AJR24,2,1313 8. A fair and equitable justice system;
AJR24,2,1614 9. Life, self-determination, and liberation regardless of race, ethnicity,
15socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability

AJR24,2,22 19Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the time has come
20to renew the progressive tradition of Wisconsin — a tradition cultivated historically
21by Progressives, Republicans, and Democrats — through an Economic Justice Bill
22of Rights and in a 21st-century fashion.
