(2) Application for registration. A person applying for an automatic fire sprinkler system apprentice registration to install, test or maintain automatic fire sprinkler systems shall submit all of the following:

SPS 305.54
SPS 305.54 Sprinkler maintenance contractors. SPS 305.54(1)(1)
General. Pursuant to s.
145.175, Stats., the activities under s.
SPS 305.50 that may be undertaken by a person who holds a registration as a registered automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance shall be:
SPS 305.54(1)(a)
(a) Performed only within the facilities or properties of the business establishment where the person is employed; and
SPS 305.54(1)(b)
(b) Limited to modifying or extending an existing automatic fire sprinkler system by no more than 15 sprinklers per project.

(2) Application for examination. A person applying to take an automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance registration examination shall submit all of the following:

(3) Examination. A person seeking to obtain an automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance registration shall take and pass an examination in accordance with s.
SPS 305.09.
SPS 305.54(4)
(4) Application for registration. Upon notification of the successful passage of the examination for an automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance registration, a person may obtain the registration by submitting an application and the registration fee in accordance with ss.
SPS 305.01 and
305.09 (7) (c).
SPS 305.54(5)(a)
(a) A person may renew his or her registration as an automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance.
SPS 305.54(5)(b)
(b) An automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance registration shall be renewed in accordance with s.
SPS 305.07.
SPS 305.54(5)(c)1.a.a. The renewal of a registration as an automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance which has an expiration date on or before June 30, 2010 shall be contingent upon the automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance obtaining at least 6 hours of acceptable continuing education prior to the expiration date of the registration as specified in s.
SPS 305.08 and Table 305.06, except as provided in subd.
2. SPS 305.54(5)(c)1.b.
b. The renewal of a registration as an automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance which has an expiration date after June 30, 2010 shall be contingent upon the automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance obtaining at least 12 hours of acceptable continuing education prior to the expiration date of the registration as specified in s.
SPS 305.08 and Table 305.06, except as provided in subd.
2. SPS 305.54(5)(c)2.
2. A person who holds a registration as an automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance may apply to the department for waiver of the continuing education requirements under subd.
1. on the grounds of prolonged illness or disability or similar circumstances. Each application for waiver shall be considered individually on its merits by the department.

SPS 305.55 Sprinkler maintenance fitters. SPS 305.55(1)(1)
General. Pursuant to s.
145.165, Stats., the activities under s.
SPS 305.50 that may be undertaken by a person registered as an automatic fire sprinkler fitter-maintenance shall be performed:

(a) Only within the facilities or properties of the business establishment where employed; and
SPS 305.55(1)(b)
(b) Under the general supervision of a person who holds a registration as a registered automatic fire sprinkler contractor-maintenance.

SPS 305.56(1)(1)
General. A person who holds a registration issued by the department as a registered automatic fire sprinkler system tester may conduct the annual activities relative to inspection and testing of an existing automatic fire sprinkler system and components as required by ch.
SPS 314 and
NFPA 25.
SPS 305.56(2)
(2) Qualifications for examination. A person applying for an automatic fire sprinkler system tester shall have one of the following qualifications:

(a) A level II certification in the inspection and testing of water-based automatic fire sprinkler systems from the national institute for certification in engineering technologies.
SPS 305.56(2)(b)
(b) At least 1,500 hour of automatic fire sprinkler system testing as a registered automatic fire sprinkler system tester learner for at least 18 months.

SPS 305.57(1)(1)
General. The automatic fire sprinkler system tester activities that may be undertaken by a person who holds a registration as a registered automatic fire sprinkler system tester learner shall be performed under the direct supervision of a person who holds a fire sprinkler contractor license, a journeyman fire sprinkler license, or automatic fire sprinkler tester registration.

SPS 305.60
SPS 305.60 Boiler-pressure vessel inspectors. SPS 305.60(1)(1)
General. No person may inspect, as required under ch.
SPS 341, a boiler or pressure vessel for the purpose of determining compliance with ch.
SPS 341 or submit an inspection report to the department documenting compliance or noncompliance with ch.
SPS 341 unless the person holds a certification issued by the department as a:
SPS 305.60(1)(b)
(b) Certified in-service field inspector working under the general supervision of a certified boiler-pressure vessel inspector who has assumed responsibility for the inspection or the report.
SPS 305.60(2)
(2) Application for certification. A person applying for a boiler-pressure vessel inspector certification or an in-service field inspector certification shall submit all of the following:

1. Passed the competency examination by the national board of boiler and pressure vessel inspectors; and

SPS 305.60(3)(a)2.a.a. A degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least 1,000 hours in one year of experience in the design, construction, operation or inspection of boilers or pressure vessels;
SPS 305.60(3)(a)2.b.
b. An associate degree in mechanical technology from an accredited college or school and at least 1,000 hours per year for at least 2 years of experience in the design, construction, operation or inspection of boilers or pressure vessels; or
SPS 305.60(3)(a)2.c.
c. At least 1,000 hours per year for at least 3 years of experience in the design, construction, operation, or inspection of boilers or pressure vessels.
SPS 305.60(3)(b)
(b) A person applying for an in-service field inspector certification shall have:
SPS 305.60(3)(b)1.
1. Passed the competency examination by the national board of boiler and pressure vessel inspectors; and
SPS 305.60(3)(b)2.b.
b. An associate degree in mechanical technology from an accredited college or school and at least 1,000 hours in one year of experience in the design, construction, operation or inspection of boilers or pressure vessels; or
SPS 305.60(3)(b)2.c.
c. At least 1,000 hours per year for at least 2 years of experience in the design, construction, operation or inspection of boilers or pressure vessels.
SPS 305.60(4)
(4) Responsibilities. A person who inspects boilers and pressure vessels as a certified boiler-pressure vessel inspector or a certified in-service field inspector shall:

(a) Maintain a record of the inspections made including the dates and the findings of the inspections;

(b) Provide a copy of the inspection report to the property owner or his or her agent; and
