2017 WISCONSIN ACT 186
An Act to amend 20.435 (1) (b) of the statutes; relating to: grants for Alzheimer's disease and dementia awareness and making an appropriation.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
186,2g Section 2g. 20.435 (1) (b) of the statutes, as affected by 2017 Wisconsin Act 59, is amended to read:
20.435 (1) (b) General aids and local assistance. The amounts in the schedule for aids and local assistance relating to public health services and, for grants for community programs under s. 46.48, and for grants under 2017 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), section 3 (1). Notwithstanding ss. 20.001 (3) (a) and 20.002 (1), the department may transfer funds between fiscal years under this paragraph. Except as otherwise provided in this paragraph, all funds allocated but not encumbered by December 31 of each year lapse to the general fund on the next January 1 unless carried forward to the next calendar year by the joint committee on finance.

186,3 Section 3 . Nonstatutory provisions.
(1) Alzheimer's disease grants. In the 2017-19 fiscal biennium, the department of health services shall award grants in a total amount not to exceed $500,000 for the purpose of increasing awareness of Alzheimer's disease and dementia in rural and underserved urban areas.
186,4 Section 4. Fiscal changes.
(1) Alzheimer's disease grants. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of health services under section 20.435 (1) (b) of the statutes, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2017-18 is increased by $500,000 to award grants under Section 3 (1) of this act.
186,5 Section 5. Effective dates. This act takes effect on the day after publication, except as follows:
(1) The treatment of section 20.435 (1) (b) (by Section 2m) of the statutes takes effect on July 1, 2019.
