2017 WISCONSIN ACT 31
An Act to create 20.255 (1) (ep) and 115.28 (63) of the statutes; relating to: mental health training program and making an appropriation.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
31,1 Section 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated: - See PDF for table PDF
31,2 Section 2 . 20.255 (1) (ep) of the statutes is created to read:
20.255 (1) (ep) Mental health training program. The amounts in the schedule for the mental health training program under s. 115.28 (63).
31,3 Section 3 . 115.28 (63) of the statutes is created to read:
115.28 (63) Mental health training program. Establish a mental health training support program under which the department provides training on the screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment program, an evidence-based strategy related to addressing mental health issues in schools, to school district staff and instructional staff of charter schools under s. 118.40 (2r) or (2x).
31,4 Section 4. Fiscal changes.
(1) Mental health training program. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of public instruction under section 20.255 (1) (ep) of the statutes the dollar amount for fiscal year 2017-18 is increased by $200,000 to increase funding for the purpose for which the appropriation is made. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of public instruction under section 20.255 (1) (ep) of the statutes the dollar amount for fiscal year 2018-19 is increased by $200,000 to increase funding for the purpose for which the appropriation is made.
