1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

21. Page 4, line 1: after "fees;" insert: "auditing department of transportation
3finances;".

42. Page 29, line 8: after that line insert:

5" Section 27m. 20.765 (3) (s) of the statutes is created to read:

6 20.765 (3) (s) Department of transportation audit. From the transportation
7fund, a sum sufficient for the audit required under 1995 Wisconsin Act .... (this act),
8section 9137 (1t).

9Section 27p. 20.765 (3) (s) of the statutes, as created by 1995 Wisconsin Act
10.... (this act), is repealed.".

113. Page 31, line 12: after that line insert:

12" Section 36d. 25.40 (2) (b) 22m. of the statutes is created to read:

13 25.40 (2) (b) 22m. Section 20.765 (3) (s).

14Section 36f. 25.40 (2) (b) 22m. of the statutes, as created by 1995 Wisconsin
15Act .... (this act), is repealed.".

14. Page 89, line 20: after that line insert:

2" Section 9137. Nonstatutory provisions; legislature.

3(1t) Department of transportation audit. Within 30 days after the effective
4date of this subsection, the joint legislative audit committee shall contract with an
5independent firm to conduct a financial audit of the department of transportation.
6The contract shall require the firm to do all of the following:

7(a) Complete the audit no later than February 1, 1996.

8(b) File, within 30 days after completing the audit and in the manner described
9under section 13.94 (1) (b) of the statutes, a detailed report summarizing the results
10of the audit.".

12" Section 9437. Effective dates; legislature.

13(1t) Department of transportation audit. The repeal of sections 20.765 (3) (s)
14and 25.40 (2) (b) 22m. of the statutes takes effect on June 30, 1997.".
