ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, To 1995 ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION 29

AR29-ASA1,1,2 Relating to: memorializing Congress to send a strong message to the Citadel, the South Carolina state military college.

AR29-ASA1,1,4 Whereas, the first woman, Shannon Faulkner, has now been admitted to the Citadel, although she has dropped out; and

AR29-ASA1,1,5 Whereas, the full admission of qualified women should continue; and

AR29-ASA1,1,7 Whereas, the other U.S. military academies have admitted both sexes for years, and both sexes honorably serve their country; now, therefore, be it

AR29-ASA1,1,11 Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin assembly petition Congress, which provides partial funding for the Citadel, to send a strong message of inclusion of both sexes to the student body at the college by passage of a congressional resolution to that end.
