AR29-ASA1,1,2 1Relating to: memorializing Congress to send a strong message to the Citadel, the
2South Carolina state military college.

AR29-ASA1,1,43 Whereas, the first woman, Shannon Faulkner, has now been admitted to the
4Citadel, although she has dropped out; and

AR29-ASA1,1,55 Whereas, the full admission of qualified women should continue; and

AR29-ASA1,1,76 Whereas, the other U.S. military academies have admitted both sexes for years,
7and both sexes honorably serve their country; now, therefore, be it

AR29-ASA1,1,11 8Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin assembly
9petition Congress, which provides partial funding for the Citadel, to send a strong
10message of inclusion of both sexes to the student body at the college by passage of a
11congressional resolution to that end.
