SB179-SSA1,1,3 1An Act to create 23.0915 (1m) of the statutes; relating to: use of funds under
2the stewardship program for golf courses and for the acquisition and
3development of land by counties and other local units of government.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB179-SSA1, s. 1 4Section 1. 23.0915 (1m) of the statutes is created to read:
SB179-SSA1,1,75 23.0915 (1m) Prohibitions on expenditures. (a) 1. The department may not
6expend moneys from the appropriation under s. 20.866 (2) (tz) for the acquisition of
7land for golf courses or for the development of golf courses.
SB179-SSA1,1,108 2. Subdivision 1 does not apply to the expenditure of moneys approved under
9an application that was made before April 1, 1995, and that was approved by the
10department before April 10, 1995.
SB179-SSA1,1,1411 (b) The department may not expend moneys from the appropriation under s.
1220.866 (2) (tz) for the acquisition or development of land by a county or other local
13governmental unit or political subdivision if the county, local governmental unit or
14political subdivision acquires the land involved by condemnation.

1Section 2. Nonstatutory provisions.
SB179-SSA1,2,5 2(1) (a) In this subsection, "qualifying local unit of government" means a local
3unit of government that has submitted an application before May 1, 1995, for funding
4from the appropriation under section 20.866 (2) (tz) of the statutes for the acquisition
5of land for a golf course.
SB179-SSA1,2,11 6(b) Notwithstanding any deadline promulgated by rule by the department of
7natural resources, a qualifying local unit of government may submit an application
8for funding for land acquisition from the appropriation under section 20.866 (2) (tz)
9of the statutes, and the application shall be considered to have been submitted before
10May 1, 1995, if the application is submitted within 30 days of the effective date of this
11subsection.
SB179-SSA1, s. 3 12Section 3. Initial applicability.
SB179-SSA1,2,15 13(1) Section 23.0915 (1m) (a) 1. and (b) of the statutes first applies to moneys
14encumbered or expended from the appropriation under section 20.866 (2) (tz) of the
15statutes on the effective date of this subsection.
