AB100-ASA1-AA1,497,17 d. WMVS-TV and WMVT-TV, appointed by the district board governing the Milwaukee area technical college.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,497,20 5. One representative of each of the following, appointed by the members specified under subdivision 4. within 45 days after the effective date of this subdivision:

AB100-ASA1-AA1,497,21 a. The public broadcasting audience.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,497,22 b. The commercial broadcasting industry.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,497,23 c. The public school system.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,498,3 (c) The educational communications board and the district board governing the Milwaukee area technical college shall provide staff and other support required for the operation of the commission.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,498,8 (d) The commission shall study the future of public broadcasting in this state for the purpose of making recommendations that, if implemented, will be likely to ensure that public broadcasting continues its tradition of distinguished service to this state, utilizes new technologies and functions in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. The study shall include an examination of all of the following:

AB100-ASA1-AA1,498,10 2. Technological advances and their implication for public broadcasting.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,498,12 3. The relationship between public broadcasting and distance education, as defined in section 24.60 (1g) of the statutes, as affected by this act.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,498,14 4. The development of new partnerships with the private sector and with other public sector interests.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,498,17 5. Alternative organizational or governance structures, including a single public or private organization that is not a current licensee of a radio or television broadcasting station.

AB100-ASA1-AA1,498,22 (e) The commission shall submit a report of its findings, conclusions and recommendations no later than June 30, 1998, to the governor, and to the legislature for distribution to the appropriate standing committees in the manner provided under section 13.172 (3) of the statutes. Upon submittal of its report, the commission shall cease to exist.".
