AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,7 7(a) In this subsection:
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,8 81. "Department" means the department of commerce.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,11 92. "Eligible city or village" means a city or village in this state that has a
10population of less than 15,000 and that has created a tax incremental district under
11section 66.46 of the statutes.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,13 123. "Relocation benefits" means payments specified in section 32.19 of the
13statutes and reimbursements specified in section 32.195 of the statutes.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,14 144. "Secretary" means the secretary of commerce.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,17 15(b) Subject to paragraphs (e) and (f), the department may make a grant of not
16more than $1,500,000 from the appropriation under section 20.143 (1) (cr) of the
17statutes, as created by this act, to an eligible city or village if all of the following apply:
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,19 181. The eligible city or village uses the grant proceeds for any of the purposes
19specified in paragraph (c).
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,21 202. The eligible city or village submits a plan to the department detailing the
21proposed use of the grant and the secretary approves the plan.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,2,24 223. The eligible city or village enters into a written agreement with the
23department that specifies the conditions for use of the grant proceeds, including
24reporting and auditing requirements.

14. The eligible city or village agrees in writing to submit to the department the
2report required under paragraph (d) by the time required under paragraph (d).
AB768-ASA1-AA24,3,4 3(c) A grant under this subsection may be used only for any of the following
4purposes:
AB768-ASA1-AA24,3,7 51. To acquire real property that is located in the eligible city or village in an area
6that is completely surrounded by a tax incremental district created by the eligible
7city or village.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,3,9 82. To provide relocation benefits to persons entitled to such benefits as a result
9of the acquisition of real property under subdivision 1.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,3,12 10(d) An eligible city or village that receives a grant under this subsection shall
11submit to the department, within 6 months after spending the full amount of the
12grant, a report detailing how the grant proceeds were used.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,3,14 13(e) The total amount of grants awarded under this subsection may not exceed
14$5,000,000.
AB768-ASA1-AA24,3,16 15(f) The department may not pay grant proceeds under this subsection after
16June 30, 1999.".
