AB234-AA5,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB234-AA5,1,3 21. Page 1, line 3: delete the material beginning with ", court" and ending with
3"appropriation".
AB234-AA5,1,5 42. Page 2, line 1: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with
5page 3, line 3 and substitute:
AB234-AA5,1,6 6" Section 1b. 11.50 (3) (a) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:
AB234-AA5,1,127 11.50 (3) (a) 2. If an election for justice is scheduled in the following year, 8%
8of the fund
the state treasurer shall be placed place in a supreme court account an
9amount equal to the lesser of the amount required to make payment of the maximum
10grant permitted under sub. (9) to 2 candidates for the office of justice or the balance
11in the fund
. From this account, an equal amount shall be disbursed to the campaign
12depository account of each eligible candidate by the state treasurer.
AB234-AA5, s. 1c 13Section 1c. 11.50 (3) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:

111.50 (3) (b) If a vacancy occurs in the office of state superintendent or justice
2after August 15 in any year and an election is scheduled to fill the vacancy at the
3spring election in the following year, the state treasurer shall transfer an amount not
4exceeding 8% of the moneys transferred to the fund on the preceding August 15
equal
5to the lesser of the amount specified in par. (a) or the balance in the fund
to the
6account for the office in which the vacancy occurs, such . If the balance in the fund
7exceeds the amount to be transferred, the
moneys to be transferred shall be drawn
8from any account within the accounts created under sub. (4) in the amount or
9amounts specified by the board.".
