SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO 1999 SENATE BILL 357

SB357-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB357-SA1,1,3 1. Page 9, line 11: delete the material beginning with "distribution" and ending with "government;" on line 12 and substitute: "payments to certain towns;".

SB357-SA1,1,4 2. Page 38, line 3: after that line insert: - See PDF for table

SB357-SA1,1,5 3. Page 39, line 1: delete lines 1 to 9 and substitute:

SB357-SA1,1,6 " Section 20e. 20.370 (5) (dd) of the statutes is created to read:

SB357-SA1,1,9 20.370 (5) (dd) Payments to towns. Biennially, from the general fund, the amounts in the schedule to make the payments required under 1999 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), section 9136 (1q).

SB357-SA1, s. 20r Section 20r. 20.370 (5) (dd) of the statutes, as affected by 1999 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), is repealed.".

SB357-SA1,2,12 (1q) Payments to certain towns. No later than October 1, 2000, the secretary of natural resources shall distribute $1,805,800 from the appropriation account under section 20.370 (5) (dd) of the statutes, as created by this act, to towns that were eligible to receive national forest income payments under section 59.25 (3) (r), 1997 stats., during the 1998-99 fiscal year. The secretary shall distribute the moneys to the towns according to the criteria required for the distribution of national forest income payments under section 59.25 (3) (r), 1997 stats.".

SB357-SA1,2,14 " Section 9436. Effective dates; natural resources.

SB357-SA1,2,16 (1q) Payments to certain towns. The repeal of section 20.370 (5) (dd) of the statutes takes effect on December 31, 2000.".
