SENATE SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2001 SENATE BILL 124

SB124-SSA1,1,2 An Act to create 121.91 (4) (i) of the statutes; relating to: increasing revenue limits for increases in health insurance costs.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

SB124-SSA1, s. 1 Section 1. 121.91 (4) (i) of the statutes is created to read:

SB124-SSA1,1,5 121.91 (4) (i) The limit otherwise applicable to a school district's revenue under sub. (2m) in any school year is increased by an amount equal to the following:

SB124-SSA1,1,10 1. For a school district that subscribes to a private sector health care coverage plan or that subscribes to a health care coverage plan offered by the group insurance board under s. 40.51 (7), an amount equal to the amount by which health care coverage premiums in the current school year exceed 110% of costs for health care coverage premiums in the previous school year.

SB124-SSA1,2,3 2. For a school district that provides health care benefits on a self-insured basis to employees of the school district, an amount equal to the amount by which the cost of health care claims paid by the school district in the previous school year exceeded 110% of the cost of health care claims paid by the school district in the 2nd previous school year.

SB124-SSA1, s. 2 Section 2. Initial applicability.

SB124-SSA1,2,6 (1) This act first applies to the calculation of a school district's revenue limit for the school year beginning after the effective date of this subsection.
