12the department shall award, from the appropriation appropriations under s. 20.435

1(3) (de) and (ky), a grant annually to be used only for the purposes specified in sub.
2(4) (a) and (am). The minimum amount of a grant is $10,000. The department shall
3determine the amount of a grant awarded to a county, other than a county with a
4population of 500,000 or more, or Indian tribe in excess of the minimum amount
5based on the number of births that are funded by medical assistance under subch.
6IV of ch. 49 in that county or the reservation of that Indian tribe in proportion to the
7number of births that are funded by medical assistance under subch. IV of ch. 49 in
8all of the counties and the reservations of all of the Indian tribes to which grants are
9awarded under this section in the year in which the county or Indian tribe is first
10selected to participate in the program
. The department shall determine the amount
11of a grant awarded to a county with a population of 500,000 or more in excess of the
12minimum amount based on 60% of the number of births that are funded by medical
13assistance under subch. IV of ch. 49 in that county in proportion to the number of
14births that are funded by medical assistance under subch. IV of ch. 49 in all of the
15counties and the reservations of all of the Indian tribes to which grants are awarded
16under this section in the year in which the county is first selected to participate in
17the program
.
SB55-ASA1-AA116, s. 1561h 18Section 1561h. 46.515 (3) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB55-ASA1-AA116,2,2219 46.515 (3) (a) Number selected. In the 1997-99 Beginning in state fiscal

7affected by this act, the department of workforce development shall allocate
8$618,000 in fiscal year 2001-03 and $618,000 in fiscal year 2002-03 for the awarding
9of a child abuse and neglect prevention grant under section 46.515 (2) of the statutes,
10as affected by this act, to a county having a population of 500,000 or more. If a county
11having a population of 500,000 or more is awarded such a child abuse and neglect
12prevention grant, the department of workforce development shall reduce the amount
13specified in section 49.175 (1) (ze) 12. of the statutes, as created by this act, by the
14amount awarded according to the procedures specified in section 49.175 (2) of the
15statutes, as affected by this act.
SB55-ASA1-AA116,4,2216 (b) Using the procedures specified in section 49.175 (2) of the statutes, as
17affected by this act, the department of workforce development shall reallocate the
18amounts specified in section 49.175 (1) of the statutes, as affected by this act, other
19than the amount specified in section 49.175 (1) (ze) 12. of the statutes, as created by
20this act, to provide $2,178,300 in fiscal year 2001-02 and $2,178,300 in fiscal year
212002-03 for child abuse and neglect prevention grants under section 46.515 (2) of the
22statutes, as affected by this act.".
