TO 2003 SENATE BILL 44

SB44-SSA1-SA35,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:
SB44-SSA1-SA35,1,3 21. Page 211, line 15: increase the dollar amount for fiscal year 2003-04 by
3$87,700 to increase funding for the purposes for which the appropriation is made.
SB44-SSA1-SA35,1,4 42. Page 286, line 3: after that line insert:
SB44-SSA1-SA35,1,5 5" Section 351r. 20.255 (2) (kn) of the statutes is created to read:
SB44-SSA1-SA35,1,106 20.255 (2) (kn) Federal funds transferred from the department of workforce
7development; after-school care grant program.
All moneys transferred from the
8appropriation account under s. 20.445 (3) (md) for after-school care grants under
92003 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), section 520. No moneys may be encumbered under
10this paragraph after June 30, 2005.".

SB44-SSA1-SA35,2,107 (a) A school board may apply to the state superintendent of public instruction
8for a grant to fund an after-school care program for pupils who are eligible to receive
9temporary assistance for needy families under 42 USC 601 to 619 and who would
10otherwise be unsupervised by an adult in the afternoon after school.
SB44-SSA1-SA35,2,1411 (b) The state superintendent of public instruction shall award grants from the
12appropriation under section 20.255 (2) (kn) of the statutes, as created by this act, and
13shall ensure, to the extent feasible, that the grants are evenly distributed among
14rural, suburban, and urban school districts.
SB44-SSA1-SA35,2,1815 (4k) Transfer of funds. On the effective date of this subsection, there is
16transferred $87,700 from the appropriation account under section 20.445 (3) (md) of
17the statutes, as affected by this act, to the appropriation account under section
1820.255 (2) (kn) of the statutes, as created by this act.".
