TO 2003 SENATE BILL 44

SB44-SSA1-SA59,1,3 3" Section 720m. 20.923 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB44-SSA1-SA59,2,64 20.923 (2) (b) The annual salary of each state senator, representative to the
5assembly, justice of the supreme court, court of appeals judge and circuit judge shall
6be reviewed and established in the same manner as provided for positions in the
7classified service under s. 230.12 (3), except that adjustments of the salaries of each
8state senator and each representative to the assembly shall in addition be prepared
9in bill form by the joint committee on employment relations and submitted as
10companion bills to the senate and assembly and shall not take effect until the bill is
11enacted on a roll call vote in each house without change. If the bill is not enacted
12without change, no adjustment may take effect for each state senator and each

1representative to the assembly unless the joint committee on employment relations
2submits subsequent companion bills and any such bill is enacted without change.
3The bill shall be put immediately on the calendar and shall not be subject to ss.
413.093 (1), 13.50 (6) (a) and (b), and 16.47 (2)
. The salary established for the chief
5justice of the supreme court shall be different than the salaries established for the
6associate justices of the supreme court.".
