ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY SUBSTITUTE AMENDMENT 1, TO 2007 ASSEMBLY BILL 281

AB281-ASA1-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB281-ASA1-AA1,1,2 1. Page 7, line 7: delete "In" and substitute "Subject to sub. (3), in".

AB281-ASA1-AA1,1,3 2. Page 7, line 12: after that line insert:

AB281-ASA1-AA1,1,4 " Section 10m. 37.30 (3) of the statutes is created to read:

AB281-ASA1-AA1,1,6 37.30 (3) The state superintendent of public instruction shall have the exclusive authority to do all of the following:

AB281-ASA1-AA1,1,10 (a) Approve a program offered by a school located in this state, or accept a program offered by a school located outside this state that is accredited by another state or jurisdiction, leading to licensure of teachers or providing professional development for teachers.

AB281-ASA1-AA1,2,3 (b) Approve a school located in this state, or accept a school located outside this state that is accredited by another state or jurisdiction, that only offers programs leading to licensure of teachers or providing professional development for teachers.".

AB281-ASA1-AA1,2,4 3. Page 11, line 15: delete that line and substitute:

AB281-ASA1-AA1,2,6 " Section 31d. 38.50 (1) (e) 7. of the statutes is renumbered 37.01 (6) (f) and amended to read:

AB281-ASA1-AA1,2,8 37.01 (6) (f) Schools approved or accepted by the department of public instruction for the training of teachers as provided in s. 37.30 (3) (b).".

AB281-ASA1-AA1,2,9 4. Page 14, line 19: delete "sub. (2)" and substitute "subs. (2) and (3)".
