(7) Administrative meetings and conferences. The board shall conduct
6regular information and training meetings at various locations in the state for
7county and municipal clerks and other election officials. Administrative meetings
8shall be designed to explain the election laws and the forms and rules of the board,
9to promote uniform procedures and to assure that clerks and other officials are made
10aware of the integrity and importance of the vote of each citizen.
In its meetings with
11clerks and other election officials, the board shall explain the facts that, if an address
12is shown on the proof of identification submitted by an elector, it need not be the same
13as the elector's residence; and if an elector is required to present proof of residence,
1the elector's current residence must appear on that document. The board may
2conduct conferences relating to election laws, practice and procedure. The board may
3charge persons attending the administrative meetings and conferences for its costs
4incurred in conducting the meetings and conferences at a rate not exceeding the per
5capita cost incurred by the board.".
