ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 9, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 177

AB177-AA9,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB177-AA9,1,3 1. Page 3, line 3: delete "The department" and substitute "Except as provided in subd. 4., the department".

AB177-AA9,1,5 2. Page 3, line 12: after "recipient" insert ", other than a recipient under subd. 4.,".

AB177-AA9,1,6 3. Page 3, line 15: after that line insert:

AB177-AA9,2,2 "4. Subdivision 1. does not apply to a recipient who would be unable to comply with subd. 1., as determined by the department, or for whom compliance with subd. 1. would be unduly burdensome, as determined by the department, because the recipient follows certain religious traditions, rituals, or requirements related to food consumption or handling or other preparation. To be exempt under this subdivision, a recipient must provide notice to the department in writing, which may be by electronic mail or facsimile transmission, attesting to the recipient's following of the religious traditions, rituals, or requirements related to food.".
