AB497-ASA2,1,2 An Act relating to: residency requirements for sexually violent persons on supervised release.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB497-ASA2,1 Section 1. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB497-ASA2,2,2 (1) Special comittee to develop a proposal on placement of sexually violent persons on supervised release. There is created a special committee to study and develop a proposal on the residency requirements for sexually violent persons on supervised release. The committee shall consist of members of the legislature, to be appointed by the speaker of the assembly and the minority leader of the assembly and the senate majority and minority leaders, children's advocates, victims' advocates, and other experts selected by legislators. The committee shall develop a proposal on the placement of sexually violent persons that ensures local control is maintained, no victim will be revictimized by his or her assailant, and no sexually violent person is placed within proximity to children.
