Probation, parole, and extended supervision. The amounts in the
7schedule for probation, parole, and extended supervision
and, as provided in s.
8302.33 (2) (a) 3., for the reimbursement of counties and tribal governing bodies for
9the maintenance of persons placed in jails or facilities pending disposition of
10revocation proceedings. All moneys received from vendors under s. 301.08 (1) (c) 4.
11and from fees charged under s. 304.074 (2) shall be credited to this appropriation
12account.

(2) (a) 3. After verification by the department, it shall reimburse the
3county or tribal governing body at a rate of
$36 per person per day prior to January
41, 1993, and $40 per person per day
thereafter, subject to the conditions in subds. 1.
5and 2.
Any amount not paid under s. 20.410 (1) (bn) shall be paid under s. 20.410
6(1) (gf) using any amount remaining in that appropriation account after the
7department pays all costs incurred for probation, parole, and extended supervision. 8If the
amount amounts provided under s. 20.410 (1) (bn)
and (gf) for any fiscal year
9is are insufficient to provide complete reimbursement at that rate, the department
10shall prorate the payments under this subdivision to counties or tribal governing
11bodies for that fiscal year. The department shall not reimburse a county or tribal
12governing body unless that county or tribal governing body informs the department
13of the amount of reimbursement to which it is entitled under this subsection no later
14than September 1 of the fiscal year following the fiscal year for which reimbursement
15is requested.

(2) The department shall charge a reasonable fee as determined by the
19department to probationers, parolees, and persons on extended supervision to
20partially reimburse the department for the costs of providing supervision and
21services
and, as provided under s. 302.33 (2) (a) 3., to reimburse counties and tribal
22governing bodies. The department shall collect moneys for the fees charged under
23this subsection and credit those moneys to the appropriation account under s. 20.410
24(1) (gf).
