AB2-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB2-AA2,1,2 1. Page 2, line 9: after that line insert:

AB2-AA2,1,3 “ Section 3m. 49.45 (60) of the statutes is created to read:

AB2-AA2,1,12 49.45 (60) Suspension of benefits for jail inmates. The department shall suspend, instead of revoke, eligibility for the Medical Assistance program under this subchapter while an individual who is a recipient of Medical Assistance benefits is an inmate of a county jail such that the individual is eligible for Medical Assistance benefits immediately upon release from jail. If implementation of this subsection requires approval from the federal department of health and human services, the department shall seek approval from the federal department of health and human services to implement this subsection and shall implement this subsection to the extent approved.”.
