ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 526

AB526-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB526-AA1,1,4 1. Page 1, line 6: delete “counselors and" and substitute “counselors; requiring education on suicide prevention for persons conducting sales of firearms for firearms dealers; and".

AB526-AA1,1,5 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB526-AA1,1,6 “ Section 1e. 175.37 (title) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB526-AA1,1,8 175.37 (title) Warning whenever transferring a firearm; suicide prevention education.

AB526-AA1,1m Section 1m. 175.37 (1m) of the statutes is created to read:

AB526-AA1,1,11 175.37 (1m) (a) In this subsection, “firearms dealer” has the meaning given in s. 175.35 (1) (ar).

AB526-AA1,1,13 (b) A person who conducts sales of firearms for a firearms dealer shall complete at least 2 hours of education programs on suicide prevention.

AB526-AA1,2,3 (c) A firearms dealer shall certify to the department of justice that a person who conducts sales of firearms for the firearms dealer has completed the education required under par. (b).”.
