ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 984

AB984-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB984-AA1,1,3 1. Page 2, line 18: delete “state." and substitute “state that are selected in accordance with par. (am).".

AB984-AA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 21: after that line insert:

AB984-AA1,1,7 “(am) Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, Inc. shall select schools to participate in the school-centered mental health program under par. (a) as follows:

AB984-AA1,1,9 1. One school shall be physically located in a rural school district and one school shall be physically located in a suburban or urban school district.

AB984-AA1,1,11 2. Each school shall demonstrate all of the following to Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, Inc.:

AB984-AA1,1,12 a. That the school currently offers behavioral health resources to pupils.

AB984-AA1,2,2 b. That the school is willing and able to facilitate a survey to school staff, pupils, and parents of pupils related to the program operated under par. (a).

AB984-AA1,2,4 c. That the school is willing and able to provide pupil data for the audit under sub. (2) to the legislative audit bureau, upon request.”.

AB984-AA1,2,5 3. Page 3, line 16: delete lines 16 and 17 and substitute:

AB984-AA1,2,12 “(2) Audit of school-centered mental health program. The legislative audit bureau is requested to perform a performance evaluation audit of the school-centered mental health program operated under sub. (1), including the impact of the program on pupils' academic performance and the social and emotional growth of pupils at participating schools, as reported on surveys facilitated by each participating school. If the legislative audit bureau performs the audit, the bureau shall file its report as described under s. 13.94 (1) (b) by January 1, 2026.”.
