S461 Senator Moore, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of two Rufus King High School debaters who won top honors at the Wisconsin Forensic Association state debate tournament held in Oshkosh January 28-30.Sophomores David Gilisch and Alexis Twito were named best affirmative team at the tournament. Gilisch also won honors as the best affirmative speaker.
Senator Shibilski, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Al Bartkowiak who passed away, he was the Portage County Treasurer.
Senator Roessler, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Brad Boycks my friend and staff member to Representative Carol Owens on the occasion of his 25th birthday on February 14, Valentines Day.
Senator Rude, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Frank Jambois who passed away February 8, 1998 at the age of 98. Frank was a gentle, caring man who accomplished much in his lifetime. He was involved in public service as a deputy for 65 years, a court bailiff, a mayor and a county board member. He was successful business person who was still working at age 94. Most importantly, he was loving family man who enjoyed 75 years of marriage to his wife Virginia, and who was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. The State Senate salutes his accomplishments and extends our sympathies to his family.
Senator Jauch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the Ashland Middle School sixth grade Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl Team. The Team took first place out of 400 5th and 6th grade teams in Wisconsin. The Team members are Chelsea Beiersdorff, Laura Beirl, Willie Dowd, Katie Eyerly, Levi Greenfield, Mallorie Grehn, Jenny Klucarich, Michael Ledin, Beth Malyuk, James Miller, Lauren Prentice, Jeanine Putnam, Mary Reader, Amanda Rivers, Jeffrey Simon, Heather Stipetich, and Kaitlin Strauss. The State Senate would like to congratulate the Ashland Middle School for its demonstration that schools do care about excellence and do, in fact, achieve it.
