The Honorable, The Senate:
the Commission on Public Broadcasting was established in 1997 Wisconsin Act 27, "to study the future of public broadcasting in this state for the purpose of making recommendations that, if implemented, will be likely to ensure that public broadcasting continues its tradition of distinguished service to this state, utilizes new technologies and functions in the most efficient and cost-effective manner." The Commission was directed to submit its findings, conclusions and recommendations to the Governor and Legislature no later that June 30, 1998.
As Chair of the Commission, I respectfully submit the Commission report for distribution to the appropriate standing committees. I would be pleased to answer any questions by legislative members.
