The Assembly met in the Assembly Chamber located in the State Capitol.
Speaker Jensen in the chair.
The prayer was offered by Reverend Doctor Ralph Leonard, Vice-president Emeritus for church relations at Carthage College, and police chaplain for the city of Greenfield.
Representative Powers' son, Jonathan, led the membership in reciting the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.
Speaker Pro Tempore Freese in the chair.

Call of the Assembly
Representative Hebl requested a Call of the Assembly. There were sufficient seconds.
The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to close the doors and the Chief Clerk to call the roll.
The Chief Clerk called the roll. The Chief Clerk reported that two members were absent without leave, Representatives Huebsch and Travis.
The Assembly proceeded to other business while remaining under Call of the Assembly.
The Chief Clerk reported that all members of the Assembly were present. Under Assembly Rule 87, the Call of the Assembly was lifted.
Representative Foti asked unanimous consent that the rules be suspended and that Assembly Resolution 24 be withdrawn from today's calendar and taken up at this time.
Representative Black objected.
