He helped found the Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation. He also helped Wisconsin get one of the first federal grants for historical tourism efforts, and was involved in the Mainstreet program, which promotes retail and commercial business in neighborhoods throughout Milwaukee. In the belief that every child deserves a home and family, the Anglins founded and operate Acres of Hope, a non-profit charitable organization which provides adoption services for orphaned, abandoned or special-needs children as well as housing and counseling for birth mothers who are considering adoption as an option.
