Relating to the Creation of the Governor's Commission on Historic Sites
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Historical Society's ten historic sites are important to the interpretation of our heritage for the citizens of Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin's historic sites are an important component of our state's tourism industry and the schools' state history programs; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin's historic sites have experienced declining attendance during the past five years and difficulties in retaining seasonal staff and caring for their large and important collections of artifacts; and
