To the Honorable, the Legislature:
The Bureau of Health Information, Department of Health and Family Services, is pleased to submit to the Governor and the Legislature the Guide to Wisconsin Hospitals, Fiscal Year 2002. The data for this report were collected under section 153.05, Wisconsin Statutes, and are published as authorized by the requirements of section 120.21, Wisconsin Administrative Code.
The report provides summary and detailed information about fiscal, utilization, and staffing data at Wisconsin hospitals, and sets forth comparisons among hospitals of increases or decreases in gross revenues, net revenue, and expenditures. This is the last year the Department will be doing this report. Because of changes in the State law governing hospital data collection, the Wisconsin Hospital Association will be preparing and disseminating the report beginning with the 2003 data.
Sincerely,

To the Honorable, the Assembly:
As you know, Wisconsin's annual grant to a nonstock, nonprofit corporation for urban land conservation (Sec. 23.0957) was awarded to Urban Open Space Foundation in 2003, and it has made an extraordinary difference in helping our Foundation accomplish its important mission.
As a grant recipient, UOSF is required each fiscal year to submit a report detailing the activities for which the grant was expended. Copies of the report are to be submitted to the "Department of Natural Resources and the appropriate standing committees of the legislature as determined by the Speaker of the Assembly or the President of the Senate." It is my pleasure to submit to you the following report.
Thank you for your important role in making this grant program available. The program is critical to promoting urban land conservation in Wisconsin through urban forest protection, water resource enhancement and other open space objectives. We at the Urban Open Space Foundation work with communities to create and revitalize public places; we're committed to helping them achieve their full natural, cultural, and economic potential through quality open space.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at the number above.
Warmest personal regards,
Heather Mann
