Senator Schultz, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Nick Zavos of the Legislative Council for his lead and dedicated work on Assemlby Bill 2.
Senator Schultz, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of two, make that three, of his constituents.
Rose Smyrski a former intern in his office, now working for Representative Phil Montgomery and her husband David Youngquist, a dedicated conservation warden in his Senate District, were blessed on September 26th, with the birth of their first child Conrad Jarl who arrived weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces and measuring 21 inches long.
Warden Younquist noted Conrad was a keeper.
Senator Erpenbach, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Vienne Laundrie Hermes, daughter of Julie Laundrie of his staff. Vienne weighed in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces and arrived on August 20th. Everyone is happy and healthy.
Senator Erpenbach, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Don Schneider. Don served the State Senate from 1977-2003 with the highest level of distinction. We thank Don for his dedication to the institution.
Senator Zien, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Fred and Nancy Risser, a true class act together and as individuals, an especially loving couple.
Senator Zien, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Ray Boland and his appointment as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.
He is the best Secretary of Veterans in all 50 states. The first Vietnam Veteran in Wisconsin to serve as the Secretary, he has the best homeless program and Veteran and dependent entitlement program in all 50 states. He is the president of all 50 state Veterans Affairs and has the most volunteers per capita in the U.S.A.
Senator Zien, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Roger Lyons a decorated and distinguished Vietnam Veteran who was killed September 30, 1977.
Senator Zien, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the Marines Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division discharged from active duty on Wednesday, September 30, 1970 at El Loro Marine Corps Base California.
The remnants of the same Marine Battalion were told one year earlier that the whole 3rd Marine Division were being pulled out of Vietnam.
On October 9, 1969 their position was overrun by an NVA Sapper attack killing many of those expecting to go home.
One of those men who made it home and was discharge in 1970, rode a 350cc Honda back to Wisconsin in 2 and a half days.
Senator Darling, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of John (J.S.) Stevens. Mr. Stevens has devoted over four decades of his time, effort and compassion to teaching the children of University School, and has trained several generations of scholars, including many of Wisconsin's business and community leaders.
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Marge Wojcehowicz the first woman to be elected commander of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 34.
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Manny Chulew who was honored by the Congregation Bnai Emunah in Skokie, Illinois for his work on behalf of the state of Israel and Holocaust survivors.

Senator Brown, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of John Gunderson, Christofer Smikrud, and Nicholas J. Martin who received the Boy scouts highest honor the Eagle award. All three scouts are from Troop 52 in Blair and under the direction of Scoutmaster Guy Leavitt

Senator Hansen, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the Coalition Against Domestic Violence Convention and Rainbow House in Marinette and Golden House in Green Bay. Both are safe havens for victims of domestic abuse and have helped countless victims protect their lives.
