Dear Secretary Hassett:
Pursuant to Section 15 of 2003 Wisconsin Act 310, the "Groundwater Protection Act,'' I have the opportunity to appoint four individuals to serve on the Groundwater Advisory Committee. I am directed to appoint one member representing each of the following interests: Agricultural, Environmental, Industrial and Municipal. I am pleased to announce those appointments.
Agricultural: Ron Kuehn, of DeWitt, Ross & Stevens, S.C., Madison. Ron currently represents six agricultural organizations and I believe that he will make a valuable contribution to the development of the committee's strategy.
Environmental: Stuart J. Gross, Senior Registered Geologist, Northern Environmental Technologies, Incorporated, Mequon. Stuart is a Wisconsin registered professional geologist with more than eleven years of experience in the hydrogeologic aspect of the field.
Industrial: David Holdener, President, Nicolet Forest Bottling Company, Mountain. David is very experienced in water quality issues, as his bottling company in rural northeast Wisconsin draws from a natural artesian well. David has also held positions in the International Bottled Water Association.
Municipal: Daniel Duchniak, General Manager, City of Waukesha Water Utility, Waukesha. Dan is a leader in groundwater quality issues and will be a tremendous asset to the Committee.
I know all four individuals will work with the other members of the Committee to bring about sound solutions to safeguard Wisconsin's groundwater.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact my office.
Sincerely,
John G. Gard
Speaker of the Assembly
