The Senate met.

Senator Carpenter, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Senator Coggs' younger sister Rosemarie Coggs. Rosmarie passed away on May 2, 2006 at the age of 52, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Senator Roessler, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of her staff team which diligently works long, arduous hours, provides extraordinary and excellent assistance to the residents of the 18th Senate District and all Wisconsinites. They are Karen Asbjornson, Jennifer Stegall, Mike Wagner, Ginnie Shorter, and Marcie Malszycki.
Senator Erpenbach, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of his daughter Amy's 11th birthday.

Senator Plale, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of his son Joey's 11th birthday.
Senator Jauch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Jeffrey Williams, who graduated 30 years ago from Winter School. Jeff is blasted into space on March 29th and is spending six months at the International Space Station where he will participate in three space walks. He has two Wisconsin flags on board, and when he returns he plans to give one to the Winter School. On May 18th, students at the school will be able to join an uplink and communicate with Jeff from space. Jeff is the son of Jake and Eunice Williams who still live in Winter. Jake is a former school teacher, principal, and administrator. The Williams family value education and demonstrate that it is through education that people from even the smallest towns reach the highest heights.
Senator Jauch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the family of Lance Corporal Adam VanAlstine who was killed on February 25th in combat in Iraq. We thank his sister Jenny VanAlstine and her daughters, Amber and Libby, his sisters Julie Goodell and Dawn Meyers, and his brother Michael Garrity for the service and sacrifice of their brother.

Senator Risser, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of his guests at today's festivities. Their names are: Nancy Risser; Lisa, Clinton, Elizabeth, and Adam White, Warner, Amy and Noelle Risser, David, Rosalind and Tim Haswell, Judy Risser, Don Hicks, Laura Wahlen, Kelly MacAvaney, Tom and Jeri Grogg, Patt and Jerry Boge, and Pat and Leon Risser. Senator Risser would like to sincerely thank them for showing their support of his 50 years of service in the Legislature.

Senator Kedzie, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the fallen soldiers and families who were honored in the Senate today.
Senator Kedzie, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of his son Ryan's 19th birthday.
Senator Schultz, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Charlie Ploetz who passed away April 16, 2006. Charlie lived a life dedicated to serving his fellow man through community involvement and sound professional integrity. Charlie honorably served the country in the United States Navy as paymaster for the South Pacific submarine fleet aboard the U.S.S. Fulton during World War II. Following his career in the U.S. Navy, Charlie started a law practice in Prairie du Sac, which he continued until making a career change in the early 1970's to banking. In his position as President of the Bank of Prairie du Sac, Charlie ran a strong, stable, and community minded bank. His personal involvement in community civic organizations has helped make Prairie du Sac a stronger and better place for everyone who lives there. At the time of his death Charlie still served as chairman of the board for the Bank of Prairie du Sac, where his son Steve Ploetz now serves as bank President, and seeks to carry on the traditions established by his father. Charlie Ploetz will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family and all those whose lives he touched personally and professionally.
