Senator Carpenter, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of his niece Stacy Guerin, and her entire United States Army Reserve 983rd Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Heavy), currently serving our nation in Iraq, with their mission to accomplish area wartime construction within the area of operation, including construction, repair, and maintenance of roads, landing strips, structures and utilities.
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Richard Baas, elementary school principal in the Kenosha Unified School District. Mr. Baas is retiring after a long and distinguished career.
Senator Coggs, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Black History Month, and in doing so recognize Cecil L. Brown Jr., an African American from Milwaukee who was elected to the Assembly in 1954.
Senator Plale, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Stanley Stefanowski.
Senator Jauch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Elisabeth Crommet Quast, a passionate environmentalist, ardent scholar, and tireless peace advocate, who died at the age of 84 on February 5, 2005. Lis was a free thinker with tremendous depth of character. Her dedication to her community, her family, and to important social issues will be long admired and genuinely missed, as will be the contagious energy with which she lived her life.
