Patrick Fuller
Assembly Chief Clerk
17 West Main Street, Suite 401
Madison, WI 53708
Dear Chief Clerk Fuller:
I would like to be removed as a co‐sponsor to Assembly Bill 770 and the Senate companion Senate Bill 499, regarding an income and franchise tax credit for research and development.
After reviewing the bill and holding a public hearing on Assembly Bill 770, I have realized I may have a potential conflict of interest. Although the Government Accountability Board has indicated the bill is drafted broadly enough that it cannot be perceived as directly benefiting only the company I have a financial interest in, I feel it is best to remove my name as a co‐sponsor to avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest. I will also be abstaining from any voting on either bill.
Please contact me if you have any questions, or if I need to fill out additional paperwork regarding this request.
Sincerely,
Pat Strachota
State Representative
