Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Lazich, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Lance Baretz, of Franklin High School, who was recently named a 2011 WIAA Scholar Athlete. 32 seniors, 16 girls and 16 boys, were selected from 758 nominations and over 400 WIAA member schools, after exhibiting outstanding field/court performances, and outstanding classroom performance. Among this years 2011 WIAA Scholar Athletes are 16 students with a 4.0 GPA, 76 conference championships, nine WIAA Individual State Championships, and eight WIAA Team Championships.
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Jennifer Barnabee, who will be taking over as the Principal at Winkler Elementary School.
S261 Senator Jauch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Lawrence Neste, Sr. Lawrence served as Springbrook's town chairman from 1949 to 2011, spanning 62 years. He also served as a Washburn County supervisor for over 20 years. Lawrence oversaw great change during his tenure as chair, and is most proud of bringing paved roads to his community. He is also proud of the board approving street lights and a recycling program under his leadership. Senator Jauch wishes him the best of luck after so many years of tireless public service.
