Senator Darling, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Deysha Smith-Jenkins of Whitefish Bay Dominican High School. Deysha won the Division 2 100 meters, set a state record in the 200, and finished 3rd in the 400 at WIAA Track & Field State Championships.
Senator Hopper, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Fond du Lac native Travis Diener, who will be inducted into the Marquette M Club Hall of Fame in August. Travis was a three year starter on the Marquette University basketball team, and as a sophomore in 2002-03, Diener led the Golden Eagles to the Final Four for the first time since 1977. Diener was a team captain in both 2003-04 and 2004-05 and earned All-Conference USA First Team honors for each season. He also earned national recognition as a finalist for the John R. Wooden and the Bob Cousy Awards in 2004. Diener selected 38th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. Diener played five seasons for three teams in the NBA before heading to play in Italy for the 2010-11 season. Congratulations again, Travis, on a well-deserved honor.

Every year, this organization pays tribute to its members and other remarkable citizens for outstanding service to their communities. Senator Miller is honored to recognize these individuals for their courage. They each exemplify the best characteristics of Wisconsin law enforcement and of our community at large.

Senator Lassa, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of the line crews of the Adams Columbia Electric Cooperative, who served the people of Adams County in the wake of the tornadoes that struck on the night of April 10th. The storms tore an 18-mile path of damage through central and northern Adams County, causing an estimated $3.4 million in property damage. Up to 3,000 customers were without electricity in the immediate wake of the storms. These technicians worked around the clock to restore power to those homes and businesses - in fact, they worked so long and hard that their supervisors had to tell them to go home and get some rest.
