Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Florence Parry Heide who passed away at the age of 92. She moved to Kenosha after World War II where she devoted herself to her children and began her career as an author. Her first book, Maximilian was published in 1967, and that started a series of books for children. She won numerous awards for her Shrinking of Treehorn book series. We will miss her; she's a delightful person and a wonderful author. Our condolences to her family.
Senator King, with unanimous consent, asked that when the Senate adjourn, it do so in honor of Dennis Albrecht, 59, of Van Dyne, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. He was the first baby born at Ripon Hospital on January 1, 1952. Dennis attended Moraine Park Technical College and obtained a certificate in diesel mechanics in 2000. He continued farming the land while being the sole employee with the Town of Friendship for the last 11 years as the township's road and maintenance man.
