Announcements, Adjournment Honors, and Remarks Under Special Privilege
Senator Wirch, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Bernard “Buzz” Englund and his brave fight against cancer.
Senator Erpenbach, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Tryg Knutson who retired this month after 34 years of service to the Wisconsin Legislature. He is an incredible friend and colleague and will be greatly missed.
Senator Jagler, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of his wife Heidi Jagler and their 30th wedding anniversary today. 
Senator Pfaff, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Linda DeGarmo and the caring, loving community of Chaseburg, Wisconsin. Linda and her husband Marv lost their daughter Tammy to leukemia, and with all of her hardwork, Linda was awarded one of the highest awards from the American Cancer Society, the St. George Award. Linda and the community of Chaseburg raised over $1 million dollars over the last few years.
Senator Roth, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of Ambassador Hsiao’s visit to the State Capitol. Senator Roth announced the formation of a bipartisan Taiwan Friendship Caucus in our legislature. Earlier this year, this body along with the Assembly, by resolution, reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening and deepening the ties between Wisconsin and Taiwan. It is reassuring to know that one of our largest trading partners shares the same values of freedom, rule of law, and prosperity as we do in Wisconsin. The Friendship Caucus will further demonstrate our shared commitment to those values and promote a closer partnership between Taiwan and Wisconsin. On September 29th, the Taiwan Friendship Caucus will be joined by Taiwan Ambassador to the United States Bi-khim Hsiao for its inaugural event.
