Senator Jacque, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of a triple crown of champions from his district. This past weekend, the WIAA State Tournament saw Denmark, Mishicot, and Kaukauna all bring home state titles, and they did it with grit, grace, and unstoppable teamwork. The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts capped a perfect season with a Division 1 title - their fourth in five years. The Denmark Vikings powered through Division 2, showing what hustle and heart can do. The Mishicot Indians won an instant classic in Division 4 - a nine-inning, 20-strikeout masterpiece. These young women are champions not just on the field, but as role models of determination, leadership, and sportsmanship. Senator Jacque also wanted to point out that Karly Meredith, a senior at Kaukauna High School, has now been named Wisconsin's Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for the third consecutive time, with a 24-0 pitching record with a 0.17 ERA, 15 shutouts, and five no-hitters this season. In the Division 4 state title game, Mishicot senior Kiran Sanford pitched 9 innings, only giving up one hit and no runs, striking out a state tournament record 20 batters. To all the players, coaches, families, and communities - you’ve made us proud. Senator Jacque adjourned today’s session in honor of our state softball champions, especially Kaukauna, Denmark, and Mishicot.
