2"84th Division `Railsplitters' Memorial Highway".

This bill directs the department of transportation to designate and mark the
entire route of STH 33 as the "84th Division `Railsplitters' Memorial Highway" to
honor the members of that division who served in World Wars I and II.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB271, s. 1 3Section 1. 84.1039 of the statutes is created to read:
SB271,1,10 484.1039 84th Division "Railsplitters" Memorial Highway. The
5department shall designate and mark STH 33 commencing at La Crosse and
6proceeding easterly to Port Washington as the "84th Division `Railsplitters'
7Memorial Highway" as a living memorial to and in honor of the men and women of
8the 84th Division who by their bravery and sacrifice in World Wars I and II brought
9great credit to this state and to their division, which traces its lineage back to the
10service of Abraham Lincoln in this state during the Blackhawk war of 1832.
