AJR11,1,42 Whereas, LeRoy Pete Litscher was born on January 15, 1922, in the Town of
3Troy, Sauk County, Wisconsin, and died on October 15, 2000, at St. Clare Hospital,
4Baraboo, Wisconsin, at the age of 78; and
AJR11,1,55 Whereas, he graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1940; and
AJR11,1,76 Whereas, he was an enthusiastic farmer and was dedicated to public service;

AJR11,1,118 Whereas, Mr. Litscher served on the local board of directors of the Farmer's
9Union Co-op (now Cenex) for 26 years, the Wisconsin Farmers Union state board for
10many years, the board of the Baraboo Milk Producers, and the board of the Wisconsin
11Association of Drainage Districts; and
AJR11,1,1312 Whereas, he served on the Lower Narrows School Board, the Baraboo School
13Board, and the Sauk County Board for many years; and
AJR11,1,1514 Whereas, he was appointed by Governor Patrick Lucey to serve on the Cable
15Television Study Commission in 1971; and

1Whereas, he was elected to the Wisconsin assembly in a November 1975 special
2election and reelected in 1976; and
AJR11,2,63 Whereas, Mr. Litscher served as vice chairperson of the assembly committees
4on revenue and natural resources, as a member of the assembly Committee on
5Agriculture, and on the Legislative Council Natural Resources Committee and its
6subcommittee on floodplains; and
AJR11,2,117 Whereas, he felt an abiding responsibility to leave the land in better condition
8than he found it and had a hard time believing that anyone was all bad, as expressed
9in this greeting: "There is a destiny that makes us brothers. None goes his way alone.
10All that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own."; now, therefore,

AJR11,2,15 12Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
13legislature does hereby commend the life and exemplary public service of LeRoy Pete
14Litscher, and extends its sympathies to his wife, his children and their families, and
15his brothers and sisters and their families; and, be it further
AJR11,2,18 16Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
17resolution to Mr. Litscher's wife, Joan, his daughter, Laurie Seifert of Hartland, and
18his son, Patrick Litscher of Madison.
