AJR95,1,53 Whereas, fire fighters and police officers from all over have come to the aid and
4rescue of those affected by the September 11 tragedy in New York and Washington
5D.C.; have lost their lives to save someone else's; and truly are heroes; and
AJR95,1,96 Whereas, in honor of the bravery, courage, and determination of American fire
7fighters and police officers on September 11, 2001, and throughout the years, there
8should be a day in our nation to celebrate and appreciate their hard work and never
9ending passion for saving lives; now, therefore, be it
AJR95,1,12 10Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
11legislature hereby urges Congress to establish September 11 as "National Fire
12Fighters/Police Officers Day"; and, be it further
AJR95,2,2 13Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
14resolution to the president and secretary of the U.S. senate, to the speaker and clerk
15of the U.S. house of representatives, and to each member of the congressional

1delegation from this state attesting the adoption of this joint resolution by the 2001
2legislature of the state of Wisconsin.
