SB208,1,2 1An Act to create 77.54 (46) of the statutes; relating to: a sales tax and use tax
2exemption for energy-efficient motor vehicles.

This bill creates a sales tax and use tax exemption for motor vehicles, licensed
for highway use, that use any of the following as a fuel: a mixture consisting of 85%
ethanol and 15% gasoline; electricity; compressed natural gas; or propane.
This bill will be referred to the joint survey committee on tax exemptions for a
detailed analysis, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB208, s. 1 3Section 1. 77.54 (46) of the statutes is created to read:
SB208,1,64 77.54 (46) The gross receipts from the sale of and the storage, use, or other
5consumption of motor vehicles, licensed for highway use, that use any of the
6following as a fuel:
SB208,1,77 (a) A mixture consisting of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.

1(b) Electricity.
SB208,2,22 (c) Compressed natural gas.
SB208,2,33 (d) Propane.
SB208, s. 2 4Section 2. Effective date.
SB208,2,65 (1) This act takes effect on the first day of the 2nd month beginning after
