SB441,1,3 1An Act to create 16.25 (1) (am) of the statutes; relating to: defining emergency

Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the volunteer fire fighter and emergency medical technician
service award board (board) must establish by rule a program to provide
length-of-service awards to volunteer fire fighters and emergency medical
technicians. Under the program, annual contributions paid by municipalities are
paid by the board as a tax-deferred benefit to a volunteer fire fighter or emergency
medical technician who has contributed at least ten years of service for a
municipality.
This bill defines "emergency medical technician" to be a licensed emergency
medical technician paramedic, emergency medical technician-intermediate, or
emergency medical technician-basic, or a certified first responder.
