SJR34,1,1 1Relating to: the life and public service of Richard B. Kuzminski.
SJR34,1,32 Whereas, Richard B. Kuzminski was born on November 25, 1929, in Cudahy,
3Wisconsin, and passed away on March 25, 2001, in Milwaukee; and
SJR34,1,54 Whereas, he graduated from South Milwaukee Senior High School and
5remained there to serve his community and raise his family with his wife Mary; and
SJR34,1,76 Whereas, he unselfishly served the citizens of South Milwaukee as an alderman
7for 16 years, including 6 years as common council president; and
SJR34,1,98 Whereas, he went on to serve the citizens of South Milwaukee and Cudahy as
9a Milwaukee County supervisor for 15 years; and
SJR34,1,1210 Whereas, during these years of service he also ran his own real estate company,
11Mark Realty, which was aptly named for his family — Mary and Richard Kuzminski;
12and
SJR34,1,1413 Whereas, in the early 1950s, he served in the U.S. Army and was a member of
14AMVETS, PLAV, and the Catholic War Vets; and

1Whereas, he was also an active member of the South Milwaukee Lions Club and
2St. Mary's Catholic Church in South Milwaukee; and
SJR34,2,43 Whereas, after experiencing heart failure in 1992, he was the recipient of a
4heart transplant and became a spokesperson for organ transplants; and
SJR34,2,65 Whereas, he continued to serve his constituency until his retirement in 1996;

SJR34,2,97 Whereas, upon his retirement, he and Mary moved to their home on the Fox
8River in Waterford, where he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Kristin,
9Lauren, Preston, Leslie, Joshua, Sam, and Andrea; now, therefore, be it
SJR34,2,13 10Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
11Wisconsin legislature commend the life of Richard B. Kuzminski as a shinning
12example of public service in the best tradition of Wisconsin and mourn his passing;
13and, be it further
SJR34,2,18 14Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
15resolution to Mr. Kuzminski's wife, Mary, to his children, Bruce Kuzminski of
16Olepha, Kansas, Cindy Kuzminski of Milwaukee, Lisa Moen of Deerfield, and Lynn
17Dumais of Broomfield, Colorado, and to his sister, Dolores Tolkacz of St. Francis, and
18brother, Robert Kuzminski of Waterford.
