SR5,1,3 1Relating to: commemorating on September 1, 2001, the 90th anniversary of
2Wausau Insurance and the enactment of the nation's first constitutional
3worker's compensation law.
SR5,1,64 Whereas, Wausau Insurance issued the first worker's compensation policy
5under the nation's first constitutional worker's compensation law on September 1,
61911; and
SR5,1,87 Whereas, that policy remains in effect today with Wausau-Mosinee Papers;
8and
SR5,1,109 Whereas, Wausau Insurance pioneered industrial safety programs and was the
10first casualty insurance carrier to hire an industrial nurse; and
SR5,1,1311 Whereas, Wausau Insurance has been a good corporate citizen by providing
12financial support and employee volunteers to a wide variety of charitable,
13educational, and community programs in the state of Wisconsin; and

1Whereas, worker's compensation has evolved since 1911 into an efficient,
2compassionate program that helps injured and ill workers recover and return to
3work; now, therefore, be it
SR5,2,7 4Resolved by the senate, That the members of the Wisconsin senate
5commemorate on September 1, 2001, the 90th anniversary of Wausau Insurance and
6the enactment of the nation's first constitutional worker's compensation law; and, be
7it further
SR5,2,9 8Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit copies of this resolution
9to Wausau Insurance, Wausau-Mosinee Papers, and Wausau Daily Herald.
