Whereas, PFC Schneider, 22 years of age, was born to Ed and Kim Schneider
3of Janesville; and

Whereas, PFC Schneider graduated in 2000 from Janesville J.A. Craig High
5School, having earned the respect and admiration of his teachers, school
6administrators, and peers; and

Whereas, PFC Schneider developed a love of Japanese food and the outdoors
8and demonstrated skill as a hunter and an auto mechanic; and

Whereas, PFC Schneider committed himself to our nation's armed services
10after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September
1111, 2001, because, although he had always wanted to serve, he felt a powerful call
12to duty after that terrible day; and

Whereas, PFC Schneider believed in protecting the rights and freedoms that
14America represents; and

1Whereas, PFC Schneider demonstrated his selfless devotion to our country by
2enlisting in the U.S. Army despite having to endure being separated from his wife,

Whereas, PFC Schneider was assigned as a mechanic with the U.S. Army's
5115th Forward Support Battalion in Fort Hood, Texas; and

Whereas, PFC Schneider valiantly and honorably gave his life to the cause of
7freedom on March 29, 2004, while serving our country in Iraq; and

Whereas, PFC Schneider was an upstanding young citizen whose friendliness,
9work ethic, and companionship will forever be missed by his loving wife, family, and
10friends; and

Whereas, the life and service of PFC Schneider will forever be remembered by
12a grateful community, state, and nation as one based on service, honor, and
13patriotism; now, therefore, be it

14Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
15Wisconsin legislature honor PFC Sean Schneider for his dedication to our country
16and express their heartfelt sorrow over the loss of his life; and, be it further

17Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
18resolution to PFC Sean Schneider's wife, Yolande; his parents, Ed and Kim
19Schneider; and his brothers, Phillip and Myles.
