Whereas, Corporal Jesse Thiry was born March 2, 1981, in Green Bay, and died
3April 5, 2004, while bravely fighting for his country in Iraq as a member of the U.S.
4Marine Corps; and

Whereas, Corporal Thiry loved the Wisconsin outdoors and enjoyed hunting,
6fishing, and camping with family and friends; and

Whereas, Corporal Thiry graduated from Luxemburg-Casco High School in
82000; and

Whereas, Corporal Thiry joined the U.S. Marine Corps in November 2000, and
10attended basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California;

Whereas, Corporal Thiry performed his infantry training at Camp Pendleton
13and served as a weapons instructor in Quantico, Virginia; and

Whereas, Corporal Thiry was stationed in Japan until his deployment to Iraq
15in March 2004; and

1Whereas, Corporal Thiry loved his family, friends, community, and country,
2proudly serving the people of the United States in Iraq and receiving the Purple
3Heart posthumously; now, therefore, be it

4Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of the
5Wisconsin Legislature commend the devoted service that Corporal Jesse Thiry gave
6unselfishly to his country, his state, and his community; express their sorrow at his
7death; and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further

8Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
9resolution to Corporal Thiry's father, Randy, and stepmother Sue, of Casco; his
10mother, Kathy Bornman, of Townsend; his fiancée, Jamie Johnson, of Dyckesville;
11his brothers and sisters, Scott and special friend, Kim, of Luxemburg; Denise of
12Luxemburg; Ben Brien of Lincoln; Trishia, Anna, Don, and Travis, all of Casco;
13paternal grandparents, Goldie and Grace Thiry, of Casco; his nephews, Antonio,
14Hayden, and Pryce Thiry; his niece, Hailey Brien; and his aunts and uncles, Ernie
15and Mary Ellen Fameree, of Casco, James and Diane Thiry, of Luxemburg, and
16Michael and Patricia Sloan, of Lockport, Illinois.
